FitInspector adds a bike fit and size calculator, a riding position check and a tire pressure calculator to your Shopify store. Shoppers use them in a drawer on top of your page, so they never leave it. Here are answers to common questions about setting it up.
How do I turn FitInspector on?
After you install the app and choose a plan, open your theme editor (Online Store → Themes → Customize). Under App embeds, turn on FitInspector and save. The FitInspector page in your Shopify admin has a button that takes you there.
How do shoppers open it?
- Add the FitInspector button block to any section, for example on your product pages. No theme code is needed.
- Use the FitInspector text block to add a heading, a short text and a button together.
- Or turn on the floating button in App embeds → FitInspector to show it on every page.
Can a button open one tool directly?
Yes. Each button has an Opens setting. All tools lets shoppers choose between bike fit and size, riding position check and tire pressure. Pick one tool to open it directly, for example Tire pressure on a tire page.
Can I preselect a riding discipline?
Yes. Set Preselected discipline on a button or in the app embed, for example Gravel on your gravel bike pages. It's only a suggestion: shoppers can always change it. The disciplines are road, gravel, MTB cross-country, cyclocross, touring, time trial and triathlon, and kids.
Can it match my store's look?
Yes. In App embeds → FitInspector, choose a light or dark theme and, if you like, your own colors for buttons, backgrounds, cards, text and borders. Units follow the shopper's country by default, or you can always use metric or imperial.
Which languages does it support?
FitInspector shows in the language your shopper is browsing your store in, when it's English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish or Ukrainian. Otherwise it shows in English.
Can I get my shoppers' results?
- Yes, if you turn it on. It's off by default.
- Turn on Share results with your store in App embeds → FitInspector. It only works when the app embed is on.
- Each finished result is then published on your storefront as the Shopify customer event fitinspector:result. You can use it in Settings → Customer events, for example with a custom pixel.
- A result includes the recommendations and the body measurements the shopper entered, such as height and inseam. It never includes photos, videos or weights.
- If you store results or send them to other services, mention it in your own privacy policy.
What can FitInspector see in my store?
Only your store's name, its myshopify.com address and its store ID, which it uses to show you the setup steps. It doesn't read your products, orders or customers, doesn't change your pages or cart, and keeps no data about your store. When you uninstall the app, there's nothing of yours left to delete.
Are shoppers' photos and videos uploaded?
No. The position check and photo measurement run in the shopper's browser. Only the resulting numbers are sent to our server, and the server doesn't keep them. Shoppers don't need an account.
Can shoppers keep their results?
Yes. Shoppers can save their results as a PDF report, for example to bring to a bike shop.
The button doesn't open FitInspector. What should I check?
- On the FitInspector page in your Shopify admin, check that your plan is active.
- In the theme editor, check that the FitInspector app embed is on and that you saved the theme.
- If the drawer says FitInspector isn't available, reload the page after your plan is active.
- If it still doesn't work, email us.
