Tips for a good photo

Rider position

  • • Seated on the bike, not standing beside it
  • • Feet on the pedals
  • • Hands on the handlebars
  • • Natural riding posture, not posed stiffly
  • • Side view (perpendicular to the bike)
  • • Show the whole bike in frame — a trainer-mounted setup is fine too, just make sure the ground-contact point(s) are visible
  • • Position your near-side pedal at the bottom of its stroke before shooting

Camera position

  • • Perpendicular to the bicycle
  • • Avoid wide-angle lenses
  • • Keep enough distance (2-3 steps back)
  • • Hold the camera as level as you can

Live camera has visual hints to help you get the position just right!

You can upload a seated photo, up to 20 photos from different points in your pedal stroke, or a 10–30 second video.
